Canadian singer Justin Bieber has given many hit songs till date, one of them being Baby. It was certainly considered a love anthem for most of the 90s kids, worldwide. The craze of the song still continues among his hardcore fans. Netizens were left puzzled when a video of the song being reimagined as a qawwali at a university event in Lahore, Pakistan went viral on Instagram. According to the handle that shared the video, the event was hosted at the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS).

Sharing the video on Instagram, the handle wrote, “Justin Bieber’s iconic hit ‘Baby’ took a unique cultural twist at the LUMS Qawwali Night, where it was transformed into a soulful qawwali performance.” Well, it is safe to say that the video has received mixed reactions from the netizens. While many commented laughing emojis, some even questioned ‘why?’. Some even demanded justice on behalf of Justin Bieber and the song Baby.

One wrote, “Yehi reh gaya tha dekhna.” Another said, “baby mazar wali thi or Justin koi Malang tha had an imaginative.” One mentioned, “astagfirullahhhh.” One said, “10 min baad instagram kholo Pakistan mn kuch ajeeb hora Hotta hai.” Another one wrote, “Not gonna be listening to this song again.” One said. “culture ko izzat do gany tu bnty rehty.”

A section of the internet also applauded the unexpected fusion as it added a layer of cultural depth as it featured traditional instruments like the harmonium and tabla. According to Free Press Journal, the ones present at the event lauded the performance and expressed that their experience was amazing. It is to be noted that Bieber has yet to react to the viral video.
