Shah Rukh Khan starrer “Jawan,” released worldwide on September 7, has taken the box office by storm, raking in a staggering Rs 150 crore on its opening day at worldwide box office across all languages and a jaw-dropping 75.00 Crore in India. Directed by Atlee, this action-packed film is leaving audiences in awe.
For SRK, “Jawan” has set a new record as the biggest Hindi opener ever. Early estimates by Sacnilk hinted at a big success, and the movie grossed domestic collection delivered 75 crore INR on its very first day.
On Thursday, September 7, 2023, “Jawan” had a fantastic 58.67% occupancy rate for its Hindi version, showing that people were excited to see Shah Rukh Khan in action.
The film didn’t only appeal to Hindi-speaking audiences. It also earned a solid 65 crore INR from the Hindi version and an impressive 10 crore INR from the Tamil and Telugu versions.

Even regionally, “Jawan” performed well. Tamil language shows of “Jawan” had a solid 70% occupancy rate during nighttime screenings, while IMAX showings had an overall occupancy of 61%.
“Jawan” has not only made history with its collection but has also become the first Hindi movie to cross the 60 crore INR mark on its opening day breaking the record of “Pathaan,” which earned 57 crore INR on its opening day earlier this year and concluding its run with a massive 543 crore INR.
Jawan, release during the Janmashtami holiday certainly played a significant role in boosting its collections.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared that “Jawan” sold a remarkable 5,57,000 tickets across national cinema chains on its opening day. Among the top-tier theaters like PVR + INOX, the movie saw a massive 4,48,000 tickets sold, while Cinepolis contributed an impressive 1,09,000 tickets.
On a global scale, the movie was released on around 10,000 screens, emphasizing its massive release.
