CSIR-UGC NET June 2024 Results Released: Category-wise list for JRF and assistant professor eligibility announced

The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) has announced the category-wise results for the Joint CSIR-UGC National Eligibility Test (NET) for the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Lectureship/Assistant Professor positions from the June 2024 exam. The results are available on the official website, csirhrdg.res.in.

Candidates whose roll numbers are listed have been provisionally qualified, pending fulfillment of the necessary eligibility criteria. Those who qualified under Category 1, totaling 1,963 candidates, are eligible for the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) under the CSIR JRF scheme and also meet the criteria for the Assistant Professor role, subject to UGC’s minimum requirements. Additionally, 11 candidates have qualified exclusively for the JRF under the CSIR JRF scheme, but they do not qualify for the Assistant Professor position.

For the UGC JRF scheme, 1,875 candidates have been selected, and they too are eligible for the Assistant Professor role. In Category 2, a total of 3,172 candidates are eligible for Assistant Professor positions and PhD admissions, while in Category 3, 10,969 candidates have qualified solely for PhD admissions.

The results notice mentions that for candidates in Categories 2 and 3, the NET scores will be valid for PhD admissions for one year from the result declaration date. The scores will be released along with the candidate’s percentile and marks to assist in PhD admissions. The notice also explains that the NET score will contribute 70% to the PhD admission decision, with the remaining 30% based on the performance in an interview or viva voce conducted by the university.
