Additional Chief Secretary of Bihar’s Education Department S. Siddharth has issued a directive revising the operational hours of government schools in the state. As per the new schedule, schools will now function from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm, The Indian Express reported.
Previously, government schools operated from 8:50 am to 4:30 pm. Under the updated timetable, the first bell will ring at 10:00 am, and the eighth and final bell will conclude at 4:00 pm. Classes will now be conducted across eight periods, with a lunch break scheduled from 12:00 pm to 12:40 pm.
The change has been implemented in response to the increasingly cold weather in the region.
Furthermore, the order specifies that ongoing board examinations for any class should not disrupt the regular study schedule for other classes. Regular academic activities are to continue uninterrupted alongside examination arrangements.
