The National Testing Agency (NTA) has opened the online application process for the University Grant Commission (UGC) (National Eligibility Test (NET) for December 2024. Interested candidates can apply for the examination till the deadline of December 10, 2024, at 11:50 pm. The application can be filled out on the official website, ugcnet.nta.ac.in. There are some important dates that candidates need to remember. The last date of the submission is December 10, 2024. The fee submission deadline for the application is December 11, 2024, by 11:50 pm. Candidates will also be given a chance to make any corrections to their applications from December 12-13, 2024 latest by 11:50 pm. The examination for the same is expected to take place from January 1 to January 19, 2025.
Steps for applying UGC NET December 2024 examination
Candidates will need to follow the below-given steps to apply for the national entrance examination level.
Step1: Students will need to visit the official website-ugcnet.nta.ac.in
Step 2: Locate the application form link at the bottom of the homepage and click on it
Step 3: Select the new registration option and click on it
Step 4: Fill up the required details and finish the registration
Step 5: Once you have registered then fill up the application form
Step 6: The scanned picture of the passport-size photograph and signature needs to be uploaded.
Step 7: Make the payment for the application form
Step 8: Save the page and submit the application form
Step 9: Download the page of the confirmed payment
Details on the application fee
A fee of Rs 1,150 has to be paid by the General/Unreserved candidates, Rs 600 for OBC-NCL and General EWS and Rs 325 will be charged from the SC, ST, PwD, and Third gender categories.
Once the candidate can clear this national-level test one becomes qualified to be considered for a Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), appointment as an Assistant Professor in any college and university across India, and admission to Ph.D programs.
The examination will be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode and offers 85 subjects to students for taking up the test.
