With the Cricket World Cup on the horizon and excitement building after the fixture announcement, the ICC has introduced a dynamic mascot duo for the highly anticipated event.
Unveiled at an event in Gurugram, India, in the presence of reigning U19 World Cup Champions’ captains Yash Dhull and Shafali Verma, symbolizing gender equality and diversity, they represent distinct qualities.
Fans are granted the unique opportunity to contribute to the naming process until August 27.
The male character exudes a blend of sub-zero coolness and high-voltage batting prowess. Every shot, from finesse to sixes, resonates with electrifying force. His electromagnetic bat and versatile shot repertoire amplify excitement, electrifying the crease with each stroke.
In contrast, the female character possesses a turbo-powered arm that propels fireballs with astonishing speed, leaving even the boldest batters in awe. Her pinpoint accuracy, unmatched reflexes, and determined spirit make her an embodiment of fast bowling prowess. Adorned with a belt carrying six power cricket orbs, she’s equipped for various game-changing tactics, ready to set the game on fire.
Chris Tetley, ICC Head of Events, expressed delight in launching the ICC’s mascot duo for the Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023. These characters symbolize cricket’s universal appeal, transcending cultures and borders, standing as beacons of unity and passion. Embodying gender equality, they showcase its significance in today’s world.
Aligned with the ICC’s commitment to connect with the next generation of cricket enthusiasts, these mascots aim to engage and entertain children, cultivating a lifelong affinity for the sport. Throughout the lead-up and the tournament, the mascots will interact with fans in person, through broadcasts, and digital platforms. Fans can also purchase Crictoverse products, including exclusive mascot-themed merchandise like sunglasses, available both online and at venues.
