Tata Nexon tops Bharat NCAP safety test

The Tata Nexon was anticipated to take top honours in the Bharat NCAP safety crash tests, following its distinction as the first Indian vehicle to receive a 5-star rating in the Global NCAP crash tests. The specific variant tested under Bharat NCAP was the Nexon Fearless diesel AMT. The Nexon achieved a 5-star safety rating for both Adult and Child Occupant Protection categories.

The Nexon internal combustion engine is the latest to join Tata Motors’ 5-star safety rating elite club alongside the Harrier, Safari, Nexon EV, Punch EV, Curvv and Curvv EV. The Nexon was awarded 29.41 out of 32 for Adult Occupant Protection and 43.83 out of 49.00 for Child Occupant Protection. 

In the Adult Occupant Protection category, the Nexon scored 14.65 out of 16.00 for the Frontal Offset Deformable Barrier Test and 14.76 out of 16.00 for the Side Movable Deformable Barrier Test. It receives good and adequate results in Adult Occupant Protection. 

In the case of the Child Occupant Protection category, the compact SUV scores 43.83 out of 49. The Nexon was awarded 22.83 out of 24.00) in Dynamic score, 12.00 out of 12.00 in CRS installation score and 09.00 out of 13.00 in Vehicle assessment score.

Nexon is the only vehicle in the Indian market that offers petrol, diesel, all-electric and CNG options. Tata Motors recently launched the CNG version starting from Rs 8.99 lakh to Rs 14.70 lakh, ex-showroom. The petrol and diesel versions cost Rs 8 lakh and Rs 10 lakh respectively.
