The Apple iPad mini also supports the Apple Pencil Pro and features a 12MP wide rear camera with Smart HDR 4. Powered by the 16-core Neural Engine, the iPad mini uses AI to automatically detect documents in the Camera app, while the new True Tone flash helps eliminate shadows from them. It also includes a 12MP Ultra Wide front camera for enhanced selfies and video calls.

Apple seems keen to bring more users into its AI ecosystem, known as Apple Intelligence. These AI features will be integrated with iPadOS 18.1, expected to roll out later this month. According to Apple, “Apple Intelligence enables delightful ways to express yourself visually. Turn a rough sketch into a related image with Image Wand. And create new images based on descriptions, suggested concepts and even a person from your Photos library with Image Playground.”

The new iPad mini supports Wi-Fi 6E, offering up to twice the performance of the previous generation, allowing users to download files, play online games, and stream movies at faster speeds.
