Varun Dhawan Thinks Only South Indians Are Offering ‘Great Opportunities In Action’ And Hopes Bollywood Does Too

Varun Dhawan is stepping into a whole new genre of films (for him) as he takes on action in upcoming projects of his like Baby John and Citadel: Honey Bunny. During the trailer launch of the show, Varun opened up about getting into action and claimed that only South Indian filmmakers saw the potential in him to do action roles but hopes that after Citadel: Honey Bunny, even Bollywood offers him action roles.

As per Free Press Journal, Varun had a message for Bollywood filmmakers- offer him action films. He was heard saying, “I had a great time and it was a wake-up call for me. Hopefully, a lot of people will take notice of this. Right now, I just feel that only the South Indians are taking note of me and giving me great opportunities in action. I started working with Raj, DK and Sam, and next, I’m working with Atlee and Keerthy Suresh in Baby John. Janhvi (Kapoor) is also South Indian. Hopefully, that will lead the way for other people in our industry to give me action films.”

Citadel: Honey Bunny is the Indian spin-off of the global hit Citadel created by Russo Brothers. The Indian adaptation i sbeinh helmed by Raj & DK and also stars Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Kay Kay Menon and more. The show is set to set Amazon Prime Video on Nov 7. Moreover, Dhawan will also be seen in the action thriller film, Baby John, directed by Kalees and produced by Atlee.
