Skoda Kylaq vs Tata Nexon — Spec comparison

9

The Skoda Kylaq will be the carmaker’s entry-level offering in India and the SUV has been spotted several times, either being tested or during its TVC shoots. While most details have been revealed, one interesting aspect about the Kylaq is its engine.

It sits in a segment that has a wide variety to offer, from the Brezza’s petrol-only offering to others that offer an optional diesel engine, to the Nexon, which is offered in petrol, diesel, and in an all-electric form. So here’s how the upcoming Skoda Kylaq stacks up against the Tata Nexon in terms of engine specifications.

The Skoda Kylaq will use a familiar engine — a 1.0-litre turbo petrol unit that powers the Kushaq and the Slavia sedan. The Nexon’s engine is a well-known unit, as it has powered the vehicle for a long time now. This is how they compare against each other in terms of specifications.

The Tata Nexon has the displacement advantage over the Kylaq with a slightly larger displacement engine and also makes marginally more power, while the Kylaq makes marginally more torque. That said, the Nexon has an advantage with the gearbox options, while the Kylaq gets a manual or an automatic.
