ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2023, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) recently presented the iconic Tamil movie star Rajnikanth with an exclusive ‘golden ticket‘.

Jay Shah, the Secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), gave a special ‘golden ticket’ to the legendary Tamil movie star Rajnikanth for upcoming ICC ODI World Cup 2023, starting on October 5.

This was in preparation for the upcoming ODI World Cup scheduled to be hosted by India. The BCCI has previously presented similar golden tickets to icons like Sachin Tendulkar and Amitabh Bachchan.

Legendary Superstar Rajnikanth gets praised by BCCI

In a post on social media, the BCCI referred to Rajnikanth as ‘The Phenomenon Beyond Cinema.’ The post further stated, The BCCI Honorary Secretary JayShah presented the golden ticket to Shri Rajnikanth, the true embodiment of charisma and cinematic brilliance. The legendary actor has left an indelible mark on the hearts of millions, transcending language and culture.

The BCCI announced that Rajnikanth, often called ‘Thalaiva,’ will be an honored guest at the World Cup 2023, adding a touch of stardom to the cricket extravaganza.

These golden tickets are said to be a promotional strategy by the BCCI for the World Cup event they are hosting. The recipients of these tickets are given VIP treatment during the World Cup matches.

This gesture is part of the BCCI’s effort to honor notable personalities before the ODI World Cup, and earlier, Amitabh Bachchan and Sachin Tendulkar were also recipients of these golden tickets.

India is all set to kick off its World Cup journey against Australia at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on October 8th.”
