On Christmas, as people stepped out to celebrate with family and enjoy a movie together, a group in Jaipur was allegedly forced to watch the wrong movie. According to a viral video on social media, they were shown Varun Dhawan’s Baby John when their tickets were booked for Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2.
The video making rounds on social media is from Raj Mandir Cinema in Jaipur. The management at the theatre had reportedly cancelled the Pushpa 2 morning show without prior intimation and screened a different film. The movie goers in the video, revealed that they had booked their tickets a few days in advance but after reaching the cinema hall on Wednesday (December 25), they were informed that the 10:45 am show had been canceled and Baby John was being screened instead.
“I had booked tickets for Pushpa 2 on the BookMyShow on 21st December, but when I came here, they said that the show is cancelled and that I will have to watch the other show forcibly,” a person said. Another added, “They said the 10:45 am show is cancelled, the 2:30 pm show will go on as usual. They said that the cancellation was done through the producers and they could not do anything about it. I have neither received a refund from BookMyShow nor any notification.”

According to reports, the tickets were books on online platform Book My Show. And it did not inform the buyers that the show was cancelled, neither was the refund initiated. The video showed people demanding an explanation outside the cinema hall. The cinema hall staff reportedly stated that the change was made due to producers, decision and they had no control over it. Reportedly some people choose to watch Baby John while others left the theatre.
Baby John directed by Kalees, and produced by Atlee was led by Varun Dhawan. The film is an adaptation of Atlee’s film Theri from 2016 led by Vijay Thalapathy.
