Nagpur Man Rides A Horse, Dressed As Sambhaji Maharaj, During Chhaava Screening; Fans Say, ‘Bahut Nainsaafi Hai’

Bollywood actor Vicky Kaushal is currently over the moon as his recently released film Chhaava has been raking in a good response from the audiences as well as the critics. Based on the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the film is doing exceptionally well at the box office as well. Now, a video from one of the screenings of the film is going viral on social media.

In a video surfaced on X (formerly known as Twitter), a man from Nagpur is seen riding a horse inside the theatre to watch the film. Dressed as the brave Maratha warrior, he proceeds to shout slogans of “Jai Bhavani” and “Har Har Mahadev”. He was accompanied by a few men who were playing dhols as he entered the theatre. The videos of the same immediately went viral on the social media platform with netizens wondering how one can bring a horse inside a theatre when even outside food is not allowed inside the multiplexes.

One wrote, “Mai ek chips ka packet andar nahi le jaa sakta aur yeh ghoda le gaye.” Another wrote, “You can bring a horse inside but I can’t even carry my D-Mart ka popcorn? Bahut nainsaafi hai re.” Other one wrote, “I am almost a little proud that this happened in Nagpur.” One commented, “When I was in Delhi I came to know the term Jaat Buddhi. I never thought we will coined the same for Maratha. Over enthusiastic will do this kind of stupidity to be unique.”

A few days ago, Vicky had taken to his Instagram account to express his gratitude towards his fans showering the film with love and appreciation. Sharing a few photos, he captioned his post, “Aapke pyaar ne #Chhaava ko sachmuch Zinda kar diya!!! All your messages, calls… all the videos you all are sharing of your experience of watching CHHAAVA… I’m seeing it all… taking it all in. Thank you for all your love… Grateful to each and every one of you for celebrating the glory of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. विश्वास आपका साथ हो, तो युद्ध लगे त्योहार! #CHHAAVA IN CINEMAS!!!”

Talking about the Laxman Utekar directorial’s earnings, it has received a roaring response at box office, not only in Maharashtra but across the country. As the film earned Rs 24 crores domestically on Monday, the total of the film’s collection has reached to Rs 140.50 crore. With no major releases in the coming week, it is expected that the film would cross the Rs 200 crore mark easily.

Adapted from Shivaji Sawant’s Marathi novel of the same name, Chhaava sees Vicky Kaushal in the titular role, Rashmika Mandanna as Maharani Yesubai Bhonsle and Akshaye Khanna as Mughal Shahenshah Aurangzeb. The movie also co-stars Diana Penty, Divya Dutta, Ashutosh Rana, and Vineet Kumar Singh among others in pivotal roles. The film was released on February 14, 2025.
