For the next few years, Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor is running on a jam-packed schedule with films like Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War, Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal Park and Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra franchise in his pipeline. It is also being said that he is in talks with YRF to become the face of the Dhoom franchise. Currently immersed in the shooting process of SLB directorial, the makers of Ramayana seem to reportedly be using his body double to wrap up the film.
Yes, you read that right! According to a report by News18, Ranbir completed the bulk of his work on The Nitesh Tiwari directorial last year. Since he is committed to completing Love & War right now, the makers are reportedly using his body double to wrap up the remaining scenes. The report adds that he had finished all major scenes for the first installment of the film and only “minor patchwork” was left. The makers decided to use his body double to ensure seamless progress without much delay.

Quoting a Mid-Day source, who is close to the project, the media publication mentioned that the first edition of the film will wrap soon. They quoted the source saying, “Ranbir has completed almost all his crucial scenes for the first installment of Ramayana; only patchwork is remaining, which can be managed without him. Since his dates were committed to Love & War, the production team planned accordingly. Right now, a few minor sequences are being filmed with a body double, after which it will be a wrap on the first edition.”
For those who don’t know, Ramayana is touted as Tiwari’s most-ambitious mythological adaptation. The movie will be a two-part cinematic spectacle. If everything goes according to the plan, the second installment will reportedly commence production in May and Ranbir will join the team by June. The filmmaker plans to dedicate the next few months to “extensive post-production work.”

Talking about Ramayana, Ranbir Kapoor will be seen essaying the role of Lord Ram. If media reports are to go by, Sai Pallavi will be seen as Sita, Ravi Dubey will be seen as Lakshman, Sunny Deol will be seen as Lord Hanuman, and Yash will be essaying the role of Ravana. While the first installment of the film is slated for release during Diwali 2026, the second installment will reportedly be released during Diwali 2027.
