Samantha Ruth Prabhu is gearing up for the release of Citalde: Honey Bunny and has began promoting the same. The actress during a media interaction opened up about her health struggles and how she asked the filmmakers to replace her in the show. Back in 2022, she was diagnosed with myositis, an autoimmune disorder that affects her muscles and has been keep her fans up-to-date with her health status.
While talking to Galatta India, the actress confessed that she also shared options of her replacement with the makers of Honey Bunny. She was quoted saying,āI begged them to move on because I really didnāt think I could do it. I was really sure I couldnāt. I sent other recommendations, āLook at this heroine, she is so amazing. She will kill it. I beg you I canāt do this.ā I sent like four options to them. I was really not well.ā
Samantha added that she eventually found strength in challenge of the role and decided to move forward with it. Sharing her reaction to the final product and reminising her journey she added, āNow, watching this show, I am so thankful that they didnāt make it without me and that I found the strength to do it. Even before the verdict is out for this show, I am going to give it to myself for pulling through.ā

Her co-star Varun Dhawan was all praises for Samantha and her resilience through the filming process. Calling her inspiring he said, āIāve never been on a shoot or a creative process like that before, where I witnessed a co-actor going through such challenges. You learn a lot about human resilience and strength when you see someone battling something and still succeeding. Samantha inspired not just me, but also Raj, DK, Sita, and everyone at Amazon. Her dedication to this action show is truly inspirational.”
Citadel: Honey Bunny by Raj and DK is the highly anticipated spin-off of the American spy-action series Citadel led by Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden. Set to release on November 7, the early reaction to the trailer has been positive. It is set to take place in the 90s years before any of the Citadel series takes place.
