Urvashi Rautela’s Scenes Removed From Netflix’s Daaku Mahaaraj? Here’s The Truth

Actress Urvashi Rautela had recently made the headlines for being removed from OTT platform released date announcement poster of Nandamuri Balakrishna starrer Daaku Mahaaraj. Netizens had mocked her after the streaming platform didn’t include her in the poster. Post that, it was heavily rumoured that Netflix had even decided to remove her scenes from the film, ahead of its streaming platform release. However, it seems like the rumours were completely false.

As reported by NDTV, their source clarified that the claims are false. They went on to report that Netflix will be streaming the film exactly as it was shown in the theatres and adhering to the vision of the producers. The clarification came at the right time, as the claim had sent the netizens into a frenzy. Many had expressed their concern and outrage on how the streaming platform giant and the producer can treat Urvashi like that, especially since she has been constantly promoting the film during her interviews.

In its clarification, the media publication’s source emphasised that the rumours are “baseless” as Netflix wants to stay true to “the original theatrical cut of the film.” For those who don’t know, Daaku Mahaaraj is all set to stream on Netflix from February 21, 2025, i.e., today. The OTT platform has announced the release date with a poster that featured actors like NBK, Bobby Deol, Pragya Jaiswal, and Shraddha Srinath. Despite her prominent role in the film, Rautela was removed from the poster.

After receiving significant backlash for excluding the actress, Netflix then went on to release character posters of all the actors and added Urvashi’s posters twice. Pointing it out in the comments section, netizens had a field day taking digs at Netflix and referring to Urvashi famous “Daaku Mahaaraj crossing Rs 105 crores” interviews.

Directed by Bobby Kolli, Daaku Maharaj was released on the big screens January 12, 2025.

Videos of her multiple interviews, talking about the same thing went viral, which made the netizens label her ‘beauty with no brain’.
