If there was a trend that dominated the last year, the “pop of red” styling was sure to be a top contender, with the likes of Kendall Jenner, Jennifer Lawrence, and Mary-Kate Olsen all adding bursts of cherry, tomato, and strawberry to their outfits.
While burgundy may be the new color du jour, Kaia Gerber is standing by the tried-and-true fire engine hue. And beyond the subtle styling, she’s going full monochrome. The model met up with a friend in Los Angeles yesterday, dressed in a fiery ’fit. She opted for a cardigan, left mostly unbuttoned, which she wore with a pair of loose-fitting elastic waist pants.
Gerber brought a very noughties sensibility to her monochromatic look. She opted for a pair of black oversized sunglasses, which dominated quite a lot of facial real estate, and carried a black Balenciaga Le City bag in the crook of her elbow. She finished off the look with a pair of classic black ballerina flats.
Thanks to the styling and the no-fuss pants, the look was reminiscent of something Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen would favor, though we can only imagine they would layer it up with an enormous coat and a dramatic scarf. But with her midriff-baring cardigan, Kaia Gerber made the Olsen twin look distinctly her own.
