Good news, devoted red carpet followers: Yet another press tour has officially kicked off!
This morning in London, co-stars Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick were on hand for a photo call ahead of Paul Feig’s Another Simple Favor (the much-anticipated sequel to their 2018 mystery-thriller, A Simple Favor, out on May 1). Striking their best poses in front of the London Eye, Lively and Kendrick chose contrasting looks for the step and repeat—Kendrick in a bright red skirt suit, and Lively in a subdued navy ensemble. Sure, she may not have been in Paris, but Lively’s timeless look was all about embodying French girl style.
For starters, Lively chose Chanel, which is essentially the pinnacle of French luxury. The star slipped into one of the label’s classic cardigan styles, complete with a cream trim and pearl buttons. Any chic Parisian would style it nonchalantly with jeans—but for a more red carpet-ready touch, Lively paired her knit with a saucy leather skirt and knee boots.
We also need to discuss Lively’s statement bag: The actor sported a quilted Chanel crossbody shaped like a camera—a kitschy style debuted back in spring 2024. Remember that famous scene in A Simple Favor when Kendrick takes a photo of Lively, and she snaps and tells her to delete it? The accessory could be considered a form of method dressing. Or, maybe Lively loved it simply because it is cute. She does love a novelty purse.
For the official film premiere later in the day, Lively changed into an edgier all-black look for the red carpet. The star opted for a leather overcoat with substantial fringe. Is it French? Not quite. But it would certainly fit right in at Coachella, which just happened this past weekend.
