New Delhi: In a significant move towards enhancing governance, Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh led a ‘Samuhik Charcha’ (collective discussion) for officers of the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions. This discussion, part of the ‘Karmayogi Saptah’ initiative, focused on promoting a learning culture within the bureaucracy and aligning it with the vision of “Citizen-Centric Governance and Administrative Reforms” espoused by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a PIB press release stated.

Dr. Singh, who holds multiple portfolios including Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology, emphasized that Mission Karmayogi represents a fundamental shift from a “Rule” to a “Role” based approach. He stressed that civil servants should be driven by responsibilities rather than solely by regulations.

The Minister further explained how Mission Karmayogi, with its ‘One Government’ approach, contributes to a sustainable ecosystem for realizing the vision of ‘Viksit Bharat’ (Developed India). He stressed the importance of continuous learning for bureaucrats, particularly in light of the evolving needs of a changing society. This learning, he stated, will be crucial for their role in shaping ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’.
