New TVS Apache RR 310 — What else can you buy for the price?

TVS launched the updated Apache RR 310 a few weeks ago, and we got the chance to ride the motorcycle at one of India’s fastest tracks. The motorcycle has seen a number of updates to make it faster, look better, and handle better. However, for the asking price of Rs 2.75 lakh onwards, there are other options in the market as well. Let’s take a look.

The BMW G 310 RR is all Apache RR 310 under its fairing, from the chassis to engine and other components. However, it has not received the update the RR 310 got and is also priced higher at Rs 3.05 lakh, ex-showroom. The engine makes 33.5bhp and 27.3Nm of torque, while the updated Apache RR 310 makes 37.4bhp and 29Nm of torque.

If ICEs are overrated, why not electric? Minus the full front fairing, the Ultraviolette offers the same committed rider’s triangle with a lot more acceleration from the word go. The F77 Mach 2 is priced at Rs 2.99 lakh onwards, and has a range of 211km with a top speed of 155km.

If there’s one motorcycle that offers it all for a price a bit more than the Apache RR 310, it is the KTM RC390. Priced at Rs 3.21 lakh, the RC390 is the most powerful in the category and is about to get more power with an engine update. The motorcycle also gets a host of electronic aids that is not offered with some of the above motorcycles.

Slightly out of the league, but you still get a forward-leaning position without the fairing. The GT 650 is the only twin in the list and for an asking price of Rs 3.18 lakh ex-showroom, it is marginally cheaper than the KTM and comes with 47bhp of power.
