Gopalganj (Bihar), April 9: In a bizarre incident, a man from Bihar’s Gopalganj faced serious trouble after blindly following Google Maps while returning from a party in Gorakhpur. The man narrowly escaped death as instead of entering the full address, he just typed his village name, “Gopalpur” and started driving based on the app’s directions. The man was reportedly under the influence of alcohol when the incident occurred.

As per reports from TV9, the man ended up driving onto a railway track near Domingarh in Uttar Pradesh’s Lucknow region while driving from Uttar Pradesh to his village in Bihar, following the Google Maps direction. His car got stuck in the gravel next to the tracks. Moments later, a goods train started approaching the same track.

Thankfully, the loco pilot spotted the car in time and pulled the emergency brake, stopping the train just 5 meters away from the vehicle, avoiding what could have been a major tragedy.

The car driver has been identified as Adarsh Rai who is a resident of Gopalpur, Gopalganj. He told the police that he had attended a party in Gorakhpur and was returning late at night. He admitted to entering only his village name in Google Maps instead of the full address.
