After Russia, The Chinese Embassy Trolls USA With Hilarious Trump Tariff Meme; Internet Brings Popcorn

Amid the ongoing tit-for-tat tariff war between Washington and Beijing, the Chinese have thrown their hats in the meme ring.

Amid its slamfest on X/Twitter taking a dig at Trump’s eccentric 125%, China has retaliated with similar tariffs against all US imports, along with a dollop of meme. In its statement, the Customs Tariff Commission of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) remarked that the surge in the import tax doesn’t make any sense and will “ultimately go down as a joke in world economic history.” It further stated that if the United States imposes further tariffs, then “China will ignore it.”

The Chinese tariffs commission further warned that if the Trump administration continues to bully the country with tariffs, then “China will take firm countermeasures and fight to the end.”

Speaking of bullying by the US, Lin Jian, the Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson, quipped, “Give the bully an inch, and he will take a mile.” In another tweet, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mao Ning, recalled a quote from Mao Zedong that stated, “The US intimidates certain countries, stopping them from doing business with us. But America is just a paper tiger. Don’t believe its bluff. One poke, and it’ll burst!” Both the nations have come very far since the 1964 quote and only time will tell which country is bluffing.

In addition to relaying the aforementioned in its tweet, the Chinese embassy in the USA also shared a meme poking fun at Uncle Sam and Donald Trump.

Reactions poured in even as the US and the PRC affiliate accounts engaged in a full-scale meme war, bullying and humiliating each other. If only the next world war is just social media users throwing memes at each other and casualties are determined by the volume of likes and shares. And everyone logs off in the evening and calls it a day.
