OnePlus Rumoured To Launch its First-Ever Flip Phone in 2025: Check Out The Expected Timeline

OnePlus is rumoured to launch its first-ever flip phone globally in 2025. Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station has now revealed a potential launch timeframe for the brand’s first clamshell foldable, reported GSMArena. The OnePlus V Flip (placeholder name) is expected to debut in Q2 2025 (April-June), making it the second foldable in OnePlus’s lineup, following the OnePlus Open.

OnePlus was previously rumored to be developing a flip-style foldable, but hasn’t confirmed plans until now. The latest rumor suggests it could launch as part of its “Ace” line, likely limited to China, and may be a “small-screen flagship.” This, naturally, suggests a more budget-friendly appeal for the devices, leading us to believe that OnePlus may be targeting Samsung and its rumored Galaxy Z Flip FE.

Though the device could be inspired by Oppo’s Find N-series, there is little information about its specs or design. Some reports also speculate that OnePlus may stop making high-end foldables, with the rumored flip device possibly being a more affordable option.

However, if the launch timeline proves accurate, OnePlus will enter a competitive market led by Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip series and other clamshell devices like the Motorola Razr. The OnePlus V Flip will likely differentiate itself with premium features and a competitive price, a strategy the brand has consistently used.

Leaks suggest that the OnePlus Open 2 may feature a larger 5,700mAh battery with wireless charging support, up from the 4,805mAh battery in its predecessor, while maintaining a slim design.

It could be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and sport a triple-camera setup, fine-tuned by Hasselblad, which may include a 50-megapixel primary sensor, an ultra-wide lens, and a periscope telephoto lens with optical zoom. While these details offer insight into OnePlus’ plans for 2025, the specifics are yet to be confirmed, and more information should surface as the launch approaches.
