Narendra Kumar Niraj, also known as Gopal Mandal, the JDU MLA from the Gopalpur constituency in Bhagalpur, has once again made headlines. The MLA, who frequently attracts attention either for his domineering image or controversial statements, is now in the spotlight for his ‘vulgar’ comment while dancing at a Holi program.
Initially, a video went viral showing the MLA dancing with a female singer. Now, another video has surfaced showing Mandal dancing and singing on stage with popular singer Chhaila Bihari.
The incident occurred during the second day of the NDA’s Holi Milan celebration at Navgachhia High School. During the event, where renowned singer Chhaila Bihari was performing, MLA Gopal Mandal took the mic and joined him on stage. While Chhaila Bihari was singing “Sa-Ra-Ra-Ra,” Mandal grabbed the mic and began singing “Pani Mein Bunka Bunkey Chhai, Bhauji…” (a suggestive folk song) and started dancing. This caused the female performers and Chaila Bihari to laugh, but the song choice has sparked sharp reactions on social media.
Addressing the crowd at the event, Mandal stated, “People say I dance, but I dance daily and even kiss daily.” He added, “My dance videos are made viral so that the Chief Minister takes action against me. But the Chief Minister won’t take any action against me.” He also described himself as not just a politician but an actor as well.
Before to this incident, another video of the MLA had gone viral where he was seen placing a Rs 500 note on a female singer’s cheek and holding her hand while dancing. After facing criticism for this, Mandal defended himself by saying he considered the singer like his own daughter.
The video has sparked outrage on social media with many users criticising JDU MLA for his choice of song.
Reacting to the viral video, an X user named Mukesh said, “Ruling Party JDU MLA in Bihar: Sings ‘Sister-in-law wants to get f*cked’ in public. Tell me again why there is an FIR on Ranveer Allahbadia and Samay Raina?”

“This is our local leader, Gopal Mandal, singing such an obscene song about Phagua. It’s unfortunate for Bihar, and even more unfortunate for the people of Bihar, who elect such individuals as MLAs. What qualities do these people have apart from ignorance? There’s nothing else in them. This won’t work like this,” commented another user.
