Mourning the demise of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan lauded him as a champion of clean politics and called his death an ‘irreparable loss’. In series of tweets on ‘X’, Chouhan highlighted Singh’s pivotal role in India’s economic liberalization and his legacy of bipartisan governance. Recalling an incident in Washington, the minister said he had defended Singh when a journalist called him an “underachiever.” “I immediately responded, stating respectfully that our Prime Minister could never be an underachiever,” he said.
