Another incident of reel craze on public streets has surfaced. Earlier this week, a man sipping chai on a chair right in the middle of the road in Bengaluru. Before that, a cop’s wife turned the streets of Chandigarh into her personal dance floor. Now, the recent incident took place in Ludhiana, where two women created a dance video on a busy road.

A video doing the rounds on social media shows two women grooving right under a bridge at Giaspura Chowk in Ludhiana, reportedly on April 17. The incident caught the attention of people when an Instagram page ‘1000 things in Ludhiana’ posted the reel online, leading to a series of reactions.

The footage showed two dancers, one dressed in bold black western wear and the other in a bright pink desi look, grooving on the road amidst regular vehicular movement. The duo displayed hip-shaking dance moves beside an autorickshaw, seemingly unbothered by the traffic chaos around them. Cars, bikes, and even a truck passed by, but nothing could stop them.

A report in True Scoop, a North India-based digital news channel, mentioned that people gathered around to watch their dance, while a few recorded the performance on their phone cameras and approached the local police.

ACP Traffic Gurpreet Singh reminded citizens that such actions would draw legal consequences as “Making reels in the middle of the road is a violation of traffic rules”. Singh told the website that his video is looking into the matter. “We are verifying the video and attempting to identify the girls involved. A thorough investigation will follow”, she was quoted as saying.

The internet reacted after the clip was posted on Instagram.

“What is this ???? They don’t have civic sense”, read a comment.

“Real Ke Chakkar mein maat mare dete hain Logo ne”, another added.
