“Instead of taking action against the company which made the RL saline, the state government had taken action against doctors and had suspended 13 doctors. Doctors are our national asset. We want the list of the patients who all have been given this banned saline. I have heard that those women who are admitted at SSKM hospital are still critical,” said Adhikari.

Later, coming out from Raj Bhavan, Adhikari also mentioned that he had asked the Governor to inquire how RL Saline entered various hospitals despite being blacklisted by the Karnataka Government first and later by the West Bengal government.

“I have also requested the Governor to ensure that enough compensation is given to the family members of the deceased. I have also requested if the Governor can issue a public statement mentioning his views on the incident,” further mentioned Adhikari.

Meanwhile, the state CID had quizzed two out of 12 suspended doctors at Bhabani Bhawan in Kolkata over the saline death incident.

The two doctors identified as Himadri Nayek and Dilip Kumar Paul as allegedly the two doctors despite being ‘On duty’ were not present in the hospital.
