Kolkata: Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday once again urged the central government to act and bring back the minorities who are willing to leave Bangladesh.
āI would say that the central government must act to protect the minorities in Bangladesh and also bring back those who want to come to India. Imams have also condemned the violence that is going on in Bangladesh,ā said Mamata.
Mamata also condemned the circulation of fake videos and claimed some people were trying to give a communal twist to the violence in Bangladesh.
Notably, a minor girl came to India after the fundamentalists allegedly threatened to abduct her. She has been arrested by BSF and another young boy swimming across the river wanted to enter India for safety.
Meanwhile, while talking to the media at Digha after reviewing the construction work of Lord Jagannath temple, Mamata also thanked the leaders who are in favour of making Mamata Banerjee the face of I.N.D.I.A bloc.
āI am grateful to all the leaders who have shown me honour. May all be well and healthy. May all their parties also be well,ā mentioned the West Bengal Chief Minister.
